The Rosebush

Bizarre…  How time flies.  And how cold it must be getting over there in England now… BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!  I have to admit, it’s starting to get quite chilly over here as well…. I almost had to wear something with long sleeves the other day… ALMOST! :p:p

Well first of all, apologies to Rat for completely neglecting to send him the birthday E-card which I promised… I am shamed into silence.  Hope you had a wonderful day, honey! xx

Next… I’ve done it!  After 2 whole months of perfect health, I managed to get myself a nice bout of gastroenteritis.  5 days off work in two weeks and I’m still getting tummy pains :(  Tried to knock it dead with some super mega antibiotics on Tuesday but they didn’t work, so I guess it’s viral… Fortunately I had a Josh to bring me food and make sure I’m not dying.  It seems that laughter really can be the best medicine… Either way, I really did feel like death warmed up on Tuesday (and only to a tepid temperature at that).  I have to admit that 2 trips to the doctor at $50 a time has not helped to make me feel any better! Just hope I’m covered by the insurance!

On a lighter note, the days in between the sickness have been interesting.  Went to a rather par charity ball last week (ran out of booze before we’d finished our starters), then had a fun night out at the British Club, watching friends make t*ts of themselves on the dancefloor (leave your dignity at the door), followed by the very respectable Marine Ball which involved getting dolled up to the nines, whatever that means, and watching some really sexy blokes march up and down a big room with swords and flags, then eating gorgeous food, drinking wine and dancing for hours on end in high heels and barely feeling a thing.  It was fantastic!  Best night I’ve had here so far I think, and that’s saying something.  A few pics are in the photo gallery.

So anyway… Got back to work today and managed 6 hours of teaching, thank god.  I absolutely HATE taking time off sick, haven’t done it for ages so I am relieved to be back in the classroom and corrupting some young minds.

Wow, it’s been ages since I blogged last… Must try not to leave it so long next time.
